The following are the topics we consider and prioritize when implementing international health assistance programs
(The Agence Française de Développement, AFD) in France.
Universal medical services
The French government is actively working with partners to establish the financial and equity necessary for the health care system,
supporting the concept of universal health care, where every citizen must be able to enjoy guaranteed health care.
Improve maternal and child health
AFD believes that African youth pregnancy rates are high, and has projects to increase access and services related
women's contraception, maternal health, and family planning.
Communicable disease management
Because most of the emerging diseases in humans originate from animals, AFD is encouraging the expansion of surveillanc
on animal health through an integrated approach called "One Health." It focuses on critical regions that are vulnerable to
epidemiological management and areas where experts have determined that they are essential.
Hospital medical system support
The AFD, which believes it is vital to strengthen the health system, is supporting many hospital- related projects.
The contents of the project include hospital construction, rehabilitation, and hospital staff training.
Digital healthcare
AFD believes that e-Health, a digital-based healthcare service, can help strengthen the healthcare system,
and is carrying out about 20 projects that integrate ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
